Warning Description: Winter Storm Warning

Warning Date: 2:34 am EST on February 9, 2010

WarningSum:...Winter Storm Warning In Effect From Noon Today To 7 Pm Est
Wednesday...

Warning Message:The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a
Winter Storm Warning for snow...which is in effect from noon today
to 7 PM EST Wednesday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in
effect.
* Precipitation type...snow...mixed with sleet at times tonight.
  Then all snow Wednesday.
* Accumulations...6 to 12 inches.
* Timing...mid-afternoon today through Wednesday. Greatest
  snowfall rates will be late tonight and Wednesday.
* Temperatures...temperatures in the lower to mid 30s this
  afternoon. Temperatures will drop into the upper 20s
  tonight..lower to mid 30s Wednesday.
* Winds...light southeasterly winds today becoming north-
  northwest at 15 to 25 mph Wednesday.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet...and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible.  This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
